National Homebuyers: 'Osborne slams Brown'
Gordon Brown has been slammed for potentially plunging millions of Briton into financial difficulties.
[ClickPress, Tue Jan 15 2008] Conservative shadow chancellor George Osborne has attacked the prime minister over his record during his time as chancellor.
During an appearance on BBC Radio Four's 'Today' programme, Mr Osborne
said that people were suffering financial difficulties in Briton
because Mr Brown did not plan for a crisis such as the global credit
crunch.
"The US sub-prime crisis has affected the whole world. It has affected Britain more than the rest of the whole world," he said.
"Thanks to the economic incompetence of this government we go into a downturn with a huge budget deficit.
"We are borrowing tens of billions of pounds after 15 years of
global growth, when most other countries either now have surpluses on
their budget or have greatly reduced their deficit," continued Mr
Osborne.
Fast property sale expert Julian King adds, "Homeowners who are
facing or predict they will be facing financial problems are encouraged
to look for a quick house sale before they get repossessed.
"Our analysts are predicting 45,000 repossessions in 2008 and many
of these will be able to be avoided if the homeowner acts quick enough. | Click here to return to the News page
